The base for hunts in this country is a set of rustic cabins at the Blackstone and Wapiabi river junction, northwest of Nordegg. Rustic means what it says: solar light, wood and propane heat, and no power. That is not a shortcoming, it is the appeal, a real backcountry base at the edge of a no-motorized zone.

What to expect
The cabins sit right at the river junction that serves as the staging point for horseback trips deeper into the Blackstone and Wapiabi country. They sleep four at the base rate, up to six with the per-person add-on. With solar light, wood or propane heat and no grid power, they are a genuine backcountry base rather than a lodge, which is exactly what you want as a launch point for a pack trip or a hunt.
